Nestled in a corner of Overton Park, the
Memphis Zoo
allows visitors to
experience animals from around the world. Behind the scenes at the zoo,
dozens of research projects are dedicated to the conservation of rare and
endangered species throughout the world.
New to the zoo are two pandas from China, Ya Ya and Le Le, and their home,
the China exhibit. In addition to the pandas, the China exhibition is home
to several other species native to China. New efforts are underway at the
zoo in Panda research and preservation of pandas' natural habitat.
In addition to the zoo, Overton Park, is a natural delight itself, featuring
a carefully designed golf course, the Brooks Museum of Art, the Memphis College
of Art, and the last remaining stand of old growth forest in the city.
